TUESDAY, DECEMBER 4, 2001

The White House Office of Homeland Security on Monday issued another warning of possible terrorist attacks.

Homeland Security Director Tom Ridge didn't specify where or when the attacks might occur but said Americans and law enforcement should be on high alert during December, part of which coincides with the Muslim sacred month of Ramadnn.

Ridge has issued two previous warnings. Both passed without incident but law enforcement agencies in the past have said they were able to thwart attacks.

In response to the announcement, the New York National Guard will deploy troops to the 4,000-mile U.S.-Canadian border, said officials. The St. Regis Mohawk Reservation straddles the border.
