A Bureau of Indian Affairs technician is facing four manslaughter charges for the deaths of two couples on a highway in New Mexico.

A conference room in an Albuquerque hospital served as a court proceeding as Lloyd Larson was read the charges against him. At the wheels of a BIA vehicle and under the influence of alcohol, he is alleged to have driven head-on into a car, killing the four Nebraskans.

Larson has a history of alcohol-related driving incidents.
