Forced Oneida inspections upheld

An appeals court judge of the Oneida Nation in New York has upheld the forced inspection of tribal members' homes.

The tribe initiated the home inspections, saying they were meant to ensure safety of tribal homes. But dissident tribal members say the inspections are an excuse to oust those who disagree with nation representative Ray Halbritter.

A videotape of one such inspection, which resulted in injuries to a tribal member and police officers, was made recently.
