Did you know that U.S. District Judge Royce Lamberth's nickname was "Tex" due to his Texan upbringing? Or that he has showed up to a judicial conference barbecue wearing cowboy boots, red scarf, and a cowboy hat? And that he once ran the U.S. Attorney division now defending Secretary of Interior Gale Norton?

Well thanks to this month's issue of The Washington Journal, you can find out these and other tidbits about the judge who has taken the Clinton and Bush administrations to task for their handling of the Individual Indian Money (IIM) trust. Lamberth is probably the hardest working judge in the federal court for the District of Columbia because he moves though his docket quickly and is assigned more and more cases.

Lamberth also is the chief judge on the so-called terrorist court. He denies charges that the ultra-secretive court is simply a rubber stamp for government attorneys who want to set up wiretaps.
