FRIDAY, OCTOBER 26, 2001 A New York State Supreme Court Justice has ruled an anti-treaty rights group can sue the state to overturn a gaming compact with the Oneida Nation. Upstate Citizens for Equality has the right to suit the state, said Justice James McCarthy, overturning another judge's decision. UCE says it doesn't want the tribe's casino shut down, only to renegotiate the compact and get revenue sharing for the state. UCE is also fighting the Oneida Nation's land claim. Get the Story:
