NOVEMBER 30, 2000 A report which suggested the town of North Stonington negotiate with the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation over land issues isn't an entire waste as town leaders are prepared to implement some of its other recommendations. The town had criticized the report's author, a paid consultant, for making the suggestion. They had been considering asking him to remove the recommendation because the town has an ordinance requiring them to fight the annexation of the reservation. The town will implement another one of his suggestion, however, and is seeking residents to volunteer on a steering committee to help draft a conservation and development plan. Get the Story:
