JANUARY 23, 2001 The Bureau of Indian Affairs on Friday concluded the off-reservation casino proposed by the three Ojibwe tribes in Wisconsin would not harm the environment. The BIA still has to assess the proposal's impact on the area and its benefit for the tribes. The BIA in 1995 previously rejected the proposal made by the Red Cliff, Lac Courte Oreilles and Mole Lake bands to house a casino in Hudson. Get the Story:
