In a move likely to draw opposition from gaming tribes and gaming foes, Minnesota Senate Minority Leader Dick Day on Monday proposed building a state-owned casino in the Twin Cities.

The casino would compete with the Prairie Island and Mystic Lake tribal casinos. Day said it would have about 2,000 slot machines.
