Panelists at a symposium on economic development in Indian Country on Friday urged tribes to expand their business holdings beyond gaming.

The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut hosted "Governing Economic Activities in Indian Country," attracting participants from throughout the country. It took place on the tribe's southeastern Connecticut reservation.
