Ahtna Inc., an Alaska Native corporation, last Friday chose Ken Johns as its new CEO less than a month after ousting Darryl F. Jordan amid accusations of financial mismanagement.

Son of traditional chief, Harry Johns Sr., Johns is a former board member and former chairman of Alaska Village Initiative. He is also a member of the board of the Alaska Federation of Natives.

Johns will take a leave of absence as president and chief executive of the nonprofit Copper River Native Association.
