MARCH 7, 2001 The Palm Springs Desert Sun takes a look at the effects of Proposition 1A, the initiative to legalize expanded gaming California voters overwhelmingly approved a year ago today. A number of tribes have already expanded their casinos or are opening new ones altogether. Even non-gaming tribes have benefited as they will get some of the profits from their gaming neighbors throughout the state. Lawsuits and complaints continue to surround Proposition 1A, however. But tribal leaders and members say the benefits have been positive. Get the Story:
