Idaho compact failure criticized

At a legislative forum last week, Idaho Lt. Gov. Jack Riggs said state lawmakers failed to do their job by not approving gaming compacts the state approved with three tribes.

Riggs said the Legislature's failure will now put the matter before the courts, potentially clearing the way for expanded gaming that the Governor Dick Kempthorne and the tribes had sought to limit.
