A Connecticut group will meet with State Rep. William Dyson, D-New Haven, in hopes of convincing him that their communities need more money from expansion of Indian casinos.

The Southeastern Connecticut Council of Governments says that Dyson's comments that their communities don't need the money are unfair. The group says some of the proposed $30 million expected from the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation and the Mohegan Tribe should go to their towns and cities.

Dyson is co-chair of the Appropriations Committee. He says the money is earmarked for other state programs.

Dyson also told The New London Day: "I wasn't aware that we have become a community of people suddenly concerned about a money-making enterprise," referring to tribal casinos.
