MAY 2, 2000 Park Place Entertainment has announced it will buy Kutsher's Resort Hotel & Country Club as part of its plan to develop a casino for the St. Regis Mohawk in New York. The casino would be located in Monticello, New York. Park Place is in the midst of a $12 billion lawsuit filed in Mohawk tribal court for interfering in plans with the tribe's former partner Catskill Development. Those plans had been approved by the BIA who would take the land into trust for the tribe. Federal review of the new Park Place plan could take years. Get the Story:
