MAY 22, 2001 Tribes are lining up to open a casino in the Catskills region of New York but residents say their proposals are just more in a long line of talk and no action. Casino proposals date back a decade but one tribe was near its goal of actually opening one. Until St. Regis Mohawk tribal leaders dropped their gaming partner, that is, and picked a new one. The Stockbridge-Munsee Mohican Band of Wisconsin have entered their name into the game and the Cayuga Nation may soon do the same. Get the Story:
