Senate panel bans amateur betting

The Senate Commerce Committee on Thursday passed a bill that bans amateur sports betting.

The Amateur Sports Integrity Act would outlaw betting on Olympic, college and high school sports. The bets are currently banned in the country but due to a loophole, they are legal in Nevada.
