Shortly after she was confirmed, Secretary of Interior Gale Norton met with Florida Governor Jeb Bush (R) who said he opposes the expansion of tribal gaming in his state.

It is not clear whether or not the talk had any influence on her administration's decision to revoke a "scope of gambling" decision made by acting Assistant Secretary Michael Anderson on January 19. The decision would allow the tribe to offer poker, parimutuel gaming and other games -- all currently not allowed.

Deputy Commissioner Sharon Blackwell on Wednesday said the decision is under review.

Pressure from Bush and Florida lawmakers contributed to Norton's decision to limit drilling in the Gulf of Mexico.
