The Massachusetts town of Sturbridge on Tuesday night held a public meeting to discuss the possibility of a Nipmuc Nation casino right around the corner in Connecticut.

The tribe has signed a gaming agreement to pursue a casino. But the tribe's federal recognition status is on hold pending review by Assistant Secretary Neal McCaleb.

The tribe is reportedly looking to buy land in Connecticut for a casino but officials say they aren't pursuing any deals.
