AUGUST 31, 2000 ASW Associates Inc, an environmental monitoring firm based in Lincoln, Nebraska, is the first Native-owned business to win Contractor of the Year from the US Small Business Administration. The business was started by Marshall Prichard, a member of the Ponca Tribe of Nebraska, nine years ago, and monitors, assesses, and does environmental clean up work. This year, it had annual sales of about $5 million. The company won the award for Region VII, which covers Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska and Kansas. Get the Story:
