Sandia Pueblo has reached a deal to pay gaming profits it owes the state of New Mexico, Governor Stuwart Paisano told The Albuquerque Journal on Tuesday.

Paisano said the tribal council approved the agreement with Attorney General Patricia Madrid on Monday night. He did not offer details and Madrid's office is not commenting on the agreement just yet.

Madrid has reportedly made a simliar agreement to other gaming tribes, all of whom are expected to approve. Only Pojoaque Pueblo and the Mescalero Apache Nation are refusing.

The tribes are estimated to owe the state $100 million in revenue sharing fees under compacts signed in 1997. The State Legislature this year approved a new compact on the condition tribes and Madrid settle their differences over the payments.
