SEPTEMBER 20, 2000 The Wisconsin city of Kaukauna voted 6-1 on a contract approving an off-reservation casino proposed by the Lac du Flambeau Ojibwe tribe. The contract was accompanied by a resolution authorizing gambling and follows a vote in which residents voted down a referendum against gaming. The Ho-Chunk Nation is proposing its own off-reservation casino in La Crosse. Get the Story:
