THURSDAY, DECEMBER 13, 2001

A lawsuit the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut filed was to be discussed at a meeting last night in the town of North Stonington.

The tribe and a development partner have sued the Inland Wetlands Commission of North Stonington over a proposed 18-hole golf course and resort. The project was approved by the commission but with a number of stipulations to address environmental concerns.

The tribe and its partner believe the commission has no authority to impose the conditions. The partners want the restrictions lifted.
