THURSDAY, DECEMBER 13, 2001 Hoping to ease traffic woes and cut down on accidents, the city of Española is working with two Pueblos on a highway bypass project. The city has undertaken a $300,000 study to evaluate a relief route to the crowded Riverside Drive. San Juan Pueblo and Santa Clara Pueblo, whose land holdings adjoin the city, are being consulted. Santa Clara Pueblo owns a casino on property located along Riverside Drive. The highway extends north to San Juan Pueblo and its casino. The city says it needs an additional to complete its evaluation for a project estimated to cost $20 million. Get the Story:
