Mohegan casino seeking Miss America

THURSDAY, DECEMBER 20, 2001 The Mohegan Sun casino has been talking with the Miss America pageant to move the contest to Mohegan Reservation in Connecticut, a spokesperson said. The pageant is looking for a new place to roost, saying it is losing $600,000 a year by holding the event in Atlantic City, New Jersey. According to the casino, the pageant would profit $692,000 by moving. Get the Story:
