A controversial hog farm located on the Rosebud Sioux Reservation in South Dakota says it should be free from property taxes.

Sun Farms says the tribe owns the buildings and the property and doesn't want to pay $60,000 in taxes. But county officials say there is no proof the tribe owns the building although they agree the land itself is not taxable since it is held in trust.

The hog farm was approved by the tribe's previous administration. The new administration wants it shut down.

Tribal activists are protesting the farm as well.
