The New Mexico Supreme Court on Tuesday rejected without comment a challenge to the state's gaming compacts with 11 tribes.

A Republican lawmaker had asked the court to review the issue but was rebuffed. Rep. George Buffett of Albuquerque plans to ask the court to reconsider, said his lawyer.

The tribes and Attorney General Patricia Madrid signed the compacts in an out-of-court settlement last year. The tribes agreed to pay $90 million in casino payments they owed under compacts which had been signed in 1997.
