MONDAY, OCTOBER 8, 2001 An overwhelming number of Americans support President Bush for authorizing air strikes against the Taliban and terrorists in Afghanistan, according to aa Washington Post / ABC News poll released today. Should it involved ground forces, 8 in 10 said they would support sending troops to kill or take Osama bin Laden into custody.
