WHAT THE SUPREME COURT DID:
The Supreme Court on Tuesday said it will offer an audio tape of the upcoming hearing on the Presidential election dispute after denying news organizations the ability to record the hearing on tape or on video.

In addition to the audio tape, the Court said it provide a written transcript of the proceedings on its web site as soon as possible on Friday. C-SPAN said it will air the audio tape in its entirety.

WHAT BUSH AND GORE DID:
George W. Bush and Al Gore filed their legal briefs with the Supreme Court on Tuesday. Bush is asking them to overturn a Florida decision which allowed updated manual recounts to be included in the state's certification, which he won on Sunday.

Gore, on the other hand, is urging them to stay out of the issue, saying the Florida court acted within its right to extend the certification deadline. He's banking on getting courts in Florida to continue to let additional ballots get counted.

WHAT THE FLORIDA SUPREME COURT DID:
But maybe not so soon. The Florida Supreme Court court denied Gore an immediate recount of about 14,000 disputed ballots.

Instead, the court has asked that all the disputed ballots be brought to them by Friday. They scheduled a Saturday hearing to hear from both sides of the issue.

WHAT NEW MEXICO DIDN'T DO:
The New Mexico State Canvassing Board decided not to certify the results of the Presidential election there, due to pressure from the Republican Party. Instead, they will certify on Thursday in order to see if votes in Roosevelt County were undercounted.

Results there have Gore winning by 483 votes. The state has 5 electoral votes.
