NOVEMBER 9, 2000

The Green Party duo of Ralph Nader and Winona LaDuke failed to reach their goal of receiving five percent of the popular vote on Election Day.

Nader and LaDuke needed five percent to raise the Green Party to national status. Along with recognition comes federal funds.

But the party only received 3 percent of the national vote. Still, they had an effect on the vote in several Western states, including Washington, Oregon, Colorado, Montana, and New Mexico.
