The Washington Post reports today that President-elect George W. Bush will name new heads in the Departments of Commerce, Agriculture, and Housing and Urban Development.

Campaign chairman Donald L. Evans will get the Commerce job, Mel Martinez, a Cuban immigrant and Florida official, will be named head of HUD, and Ann M. Veneman, who served in Bush's father's administration, will get the USDA job, say Republican sources. Bush is said to make the announcements from Austin today.

Others in line for jobs are Wisconsin Governor Tommy Thompsons for head of Health and Human Services, New Jersey Governor Todd Whitman as head of the Enviromental Protection Agency. Montana Governor Marc Racicot, considered a choice for Attorney General, will meet with Bush today.

Anne Klee, former chief counsel for the Senate Energy Committee, has been tapped to be the transition team chief for the Department of Interior.
