Some of Gale Norton's critics weren't swayed by statements she made last week in her confirmation hearings for Secretary of Interior.

While she pledged to enforce existing laws she has criticized in the past, they say Norton never said she would support them. She could still undermine them, said a Sierra Club critic.

Meanwhile, Norton supporters say she was never the anti-environmental radical her critics made her out to be.
