DECEMBER 6, 2000 Responding to rumors that he may be considered for a post in the George W. Bush Cabinet, the chief of staff for Governor Tony Knowles of Alaska said the Democrat isn't being considered to head the Department of Interior. Although the two have known each other since college, their relationship is mostly professional, said the aide. The aide didn't rule out the possibility that Knowles would turn down a position if offered, but said rumors that Knowles met with Bush or has discussed the issue are false. Get the Story:
