MARCH 28, 2001

Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) is reaching out to Maria Cantwell (D-Wash.) and will hold a fundraiser to aid her fellow freshman Senator.

Cantwell, who defeated Slade Gorton (R) last fall, has a number of debts to pay off since the election. She had financed her campaign herself but due to the stock market fallout, her net work has lessened.

The fundraiser will take place April 25.
