The Libertarian Party of New Mexico officially nominated Russell Means as its candidate for Governor on Friday.

Means was unable to attend the party's state convention. He has a home outside of Santa Fe.

Means may be disqualified from running due to a 1975 court conviction stemming from his American Indian Movement days.
