Republicans want judicial assurances

Senate Republicans are formally asking the Democrats to assure President Bush's judicial nominees will be considered by the full Senate.

With the Democrats now in control, Republicans fear Bush's conservative nominees will be held up in the Judiciary Committee. They have forwarded a memo listing their concerns to Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle (D-S.D.).
