Poll: Approval of Bush declining

JUNE 5, 2001 A Washington Post / ABC News poll has President Bush's approval rating dropping by eight percentage points in recent weeks. Some 55 percent of respondents approve of Bush, down from 63 percent in late April. On specific issues, most Americans disapprove of Bush's handling on the environment and energy, while approving on education, the tax cut, and international affairs. On the environment, disapproval has grown from 41 percent to 50 percent. On energy, disapproval has grown from 43 percent to 58 percent. Get the Story:
