MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 10, 2001 Despite the controversy surrounding the World Conference Against Racism, the meeting represented years of successful efforts by indigenous activists to put Native issues in the international spotlight. Work by such groups as the Indian Law Resource Center and the Native American Rights Fund has helped strengthen ties among tribes on issues such as self-determination and land. The groups have also formed partnerships with other communities and organizations. Get the Story:
