Terrorists might retaliate for Taliban

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 16, 2001

The Bush administration on Thursday warned that terrorists might launch retaliatory attacks over the fall of the Taliban in Afghanistan.

Tom Ridge, the director of homeland security, and Vice President Dick Cheney both raised the possibility. But they only said it was reasonable to assume an attack might be planned and did not reveal if they had evidence of any.
