Sandia Pueblo gets golf grant

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 1, 2001 Sandia Pueblo of New Mexico has been awarded a $13,000 grant by the United States Golf Association Foundation to help the tribe introduce golf to members. The tribe will use the money to buy golf equipment, pay for lessons and cover fees for Pueblo children. The grant came as the Pueblo and five other tribes participated in the second annual Junior Pueblo Open held at Santa Ana Pueblo. Navajo / Pueblo golfer Notah Begay attended the event. Get the Story:
