Rosebud drum group to perform for Bush

JANUARY 11, 2001 The Rosebud Elementary School's drum group will represent the state of South Dakota during President-elect George W. Bush's inauguration on January 20. The 20 fourth- and fifth-grades wrote to Senator Tom Daschle (D-S.Dakota), asking his help in participating. He forwarded letters they wrote to the President's inaugural committee and they invited the group. Although the Todd County School District will pay for part of their trip, the group needs $5,000 in funding for meals, lodging, and other expenses. Get the Story:
