NOVEMBER 22, 2000 An editorial in today's issue of The Albuquerque Journal praises Sandia Pueblo for wanting to come to a settlement on its land claim when they are close to winning it outright. A federal court last week threw out an appeal by landowners and Bernalillo County. A settlement between the Pueblo and the government had been criticized by landowners and the county and two lawmakers had taken their side. Now, as the editorial notes, Representative Heather Wilson and Senator Pete Domenici, both Republicans, have welcomed the dismissal of the appeal. Get the Story:
