Yang Sung Chul, South Korea's ambassador to the United States, on Wednesday told a Santa Fe, New Mexico, audience that he once stopped at a bar in Gallup and was mistaken for a Navajo man until his accent and English-speaking skills gave him away.

Chul said the incident happened 35 years ago when he was traveling through New Mexico on his way to Colorado.
