Members of Michigan's 12 federally recognized tribes are part of a larger movement of American Indians throughout the country who are seeking a reconnection with their cultures.

Tribal leaders in Michigan say economic successes and self-determination gains made by tribes are helping them renew their cultures and bring back tribal members.
