APRIL 19, 2001 A couple more views on a proposal made by the Eastern Pequot Tribe of Connecticut. ASK FOR MORE MONEY:
"During the process to establish the Mohegan Sun casino, Montville was assured by its congressional representative that no congressional action would be taken to establish the right to operate a casino until a satisfactory agreement was reached between the tribe and the town of Montville The town's elected leader entered into negotiations (yes, all alone), and Mont-ville was sold out. The leader settled for a fixed annual payment of $500,000. In the future, the $500,000 may buy a car or truck, if we are lucky . ."
