Family tribe battle over burial
MAY 19, 2000

The Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians and a family are at odds over a tribal cemetary. Anthony Andreas, former tribal historian, wants to be buried there when he dies but cannot do so, since the tribe closed the cemetary in 1992.

The Andreas family had tried to bury another family member there after it was closed and Anthony was arrested. The family went ahead and proceeded with the burial at a later time.
