FRIDAY, AUGUST 17, 2001 In an editorial today, The Sioux Falls Argus Leader says the Watertown School Board should get rid of an invented Indian ceremony local activists have called offensive. The ceremony involves two invented tribes and includes some form of Indian paraphenalia. The school board said the ceremony could continue but without some of the Indian symbols. The paper says the ceremony is reminiscent of "blackface minstral performances." Get the Story:
