Japanese sushi inventor dies

Yoshiaki Shiraishi, the inventor of the conveyor-belt style of serving sushi, died in Japan on Wednesday due to cirrhosis of the liver. He was 87.

Shiraishi's kaiten-zushi system joy to sushi eaters the world over. He opened his first shop in 1958.
