TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 4, 2001

A church minister in Connecticut has organized a group to help resolve cultural differences between the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation and three neighboring towns.

Rev. Mobby Larson, pastor of the Ledyard Congregational Church, has held her "Friends and Neighbors" group since January. The group meets monthly and has included tribal members and local town leaders.

Although the tribe and the towns of Ledyard, North Stonington and Preston are engaged in discussions over trust land, political topics are off-limit at the meetings.
