SEPTEMBER 5, 2000 Senator Ben Nighthorse Campbell (R-Colo) returned to the biker rally he started in Ignacio, Colorado in 1993, both to garner support for the event, which has sometimes been troublesome, and to serve out his sentence for shooting at a dog last month near his home. The Iron Horse Motorcycle Classic has raised $400,000 for local charities. It also brought 25,000 to 30,000 bikers to the town, pouring in an estimated $13 million to the economy, said Campbell.
