Mohegan Tribal Council member Shirley Walsh has been collecting and sending clothing, blankets, toys and other goods to needy Indian families on reservations throughout the country.

She began her effort after realizing some of those who needed help were of her own tribe. But over the years, she began helping other tribes.

Walsh accepts donations but most of the items are taken from the lost and found at her tribe's casino.
